Pre-Notice of Race  [amended 09/02/07]

The Organizing Authority of the Ali6 club vela in co-operation with the Italian Sailing Federation, the 470 International Class Association and the ASITALIA, Italian 470 Class Association, is pleased to invite 470 Class sailors to take part to the Regatta Events, which will be held on July 28 to August 4th inclusive, at Vigna di Valle, Anguillara Sabazia  lake of Bracciano (Rome - ITA), according to the following schedule:

- No more than 3 races will be sailed on any one day.
- No preparation signal will be given after 17.00 hrs on saturday 4 August.

1. Rules

1.1  The regatta will be governed by the Rules as defined in the ISAF Racing Rules of Sailing.

1.2  The equipment Rules of Sailing will apply as they are referenced into the International 470 Class Rules.

1.3  No Racing Rule change requiring advance preparation will apply. Minor Racing Rules changes will be posted in the sailing instructions.

1.5  If there is a conflict between languages, the English text will prevail.

2. Advertising [19/01/07]

Boats may be required to display event sponsor advertising in accordance to the instructions provided by the Organizer.

3. Eligibility and Entry [09/02/07]

"Open ASITALIA 470"
3.a  Opened to all crews in good standing with the International and National 470 Class Association, no age limit will apply.

"Open ASITALIA 470 Master Cup"
3.b  Age grouping system will apply (see 3.c ).

"470 World Master's Cup"
3.c Opened to all crews in good standing with the International and National 470 Class Association and complying with the following age grouping system:

- Apprentice Masters: the helmsperson of the boat has attained his/her 30th birthday and the addition of the age of the two members is more than sixty years before the end of the year in which the Cup is sailed.

- Masters: the helmsperson of the boat has attained his/her 35th birthday and the addition of the age of the two members is more than seventy years before the end of the year in which the Cup is sailed.

- Grandmasters: the helmsperson of the boat has attained his/her 50th birthday and the addition of the age of the two members is more than one hundred years before the end of the year in which the Cup is sailed.

3.1 Boats shall comply with the Class Rules and have a valid measurement certificate. The sail number shall conform to the Class Rules unless the Measurement Committee, according to the Class Rules, accepts derogation.

3.2 Entries are to be made online before June 15, 2007 using the Official Entry Form available on the website

3.3 Online Entries list will be amended by July 1st.

3.4 The Registration Form, available on the website, compiled in all its parts should be faxed or e.mailed to the Secretary of the Organizing Committee no later than the Entry Closing Date of June 30.

"Open ASITALIA 470"

4. Fee [09/02/07]

4.a Entry fee for the "Open ASITALIA 470"  will be of 60,00 €.

4.b Entry fee for the "470 World Master’s Cup"  will be of 150,00 €.

4.c Entry fee for both events will be of 190,00 €.

4.1 Entry fee, payable by bank transfer to the Ali6 club vela on the Bank Account shown in the Registration Form, must be received no later than June 30.

4.2 No fees are refundable after the entry closing date. Before that date entry fees will be refunded after deducting 50% for administration expenses.

4.3 Late entries, later than June 30, will be accepted at discretion of the Organizing Authority.

4.4 Late entries, when accepted, will be charged of an additional 20,00 € for entering the "Open Asitalia 470" and, 50,00 €, for entering the "470 World Master’s Cup" or both events.

4.5 Derogation: late payment, if accorded by the Organizing Authority, should be made cash in € at the Regatta Office.

ALL BANK TRANSFERS SHOULD BE CLEARLY ANNOTATED WITH: EVENT, COUNTRY, SAIL NUMBERS AND COMPETITOR NAMES.

5. Regatta format   [09/02/07]

"Open Asitalia 470"  will be sailed as a fleet regatta.

"470 World Master’s Cup"  will be sailed as a fleet regatta.

No qualifying series will be sailed.

6. Registration  [09/02/07]

6.1 All competitors shall complete on-site registration at the Ali6 regatta office.

6.2 At registration, each boat shall show:

- Her valid International Measurement certificate or form;

- Her valid insurance certificate with indicated the amount covered for 3rd party liability;

- The membership cards of the helmsperson and crew of their National 470 Class Association.

6.3 Italian crews shall have a F.I.V. membership card inclusive of medical certification.

7.  Schedule  [09/02/07]

7.1 Only boats that have completed registration, paid the entry fee by Saturday 28 July on 12.00 hrs are entitled to enter the "Open Asitalia 470".

7.2 Only boats that have completed registration, paid the entry fee and passed the prescribed measurement check by Tuesday 31 July on 15.00 hrs are entitled to enter the practice race.

7.3 Only boats that have completed registration, paid the entry fee and passed the prescribed measurement check by Tuesday 31 July on 18.00 hrs are entitled to enter the "470 World Master's Cup"  Regatta.

7.4  Saturday 28 July and Thursday 1 August, first warning signal will be given as per previous chart.

8. Measurement

8.1 The same checked boat shall be used throughout the entire regatta, except in case of damage beyond repair.

8.2 Only one set of sails per boat is allowed to be measured and stamped for the regatta, except in case of damage beyond repair.

8.3 Boats shall not use any sail and equipment other than their own stamped sails and checked equipment.

9. Sailing Instructions  [09/02/07]

Sailing Instructions will be available at the Regatta Office from Saturday 29 July, 10.00 hrs .

10. Venue  [09/02/07]

10.1 Club facilities will be opened from Friday 27, 10.00 hrs.

10.2 The Regatta Office at the race facilities will be opened for registration from Friday 27 to Tuesday 31 as per previous chart.

10.3 Any timing variation will be posted on the Official Notice Board minimum 6 hours before it will take effect.

11. Racing Area and Courses

11.1 Racing will be held at the sailing area of Bracciano.

11.2 Course will be applicable to 470. Length of course will adapt to wind strength, with a race time ± 60 minutes.

11.3 Courses will be shown in the Sailing Instructions.

12. Jury [09/02/07]

Decision of the jury will be final as provided in rule 70.4
If an International Jury is appointed, right of appeal will be denied.
In case of a Protest Committee, the right of appeal will be granted.

13. Penalty system  [19/01/07]

Rules 44.1 and 44.2 will apply.
Immediate Penalties for Breaking Rule 42 will apply.

14. Scoring

14.1 The Low Point Scoring System will apply.

15. Races  [09/02/07]

"Open Asitalia 470".

15.1 Five races are scheduled. To constitute a valid series 2 races shall be completed.

       (a)  Fewer than five races completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race score.

       (b)  If five races are completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race score excluding her worst score.

"470 World Master's Cup"

15.2 Eleven races are scheduled. To constitute a valid series 4 races shall be completed.

       (a)  Fewer than five races completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race score.

       (b)  From five to eight races completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race score excluding her worst score.

       (c)  From nine to eleven races completed, a boat’s series score will be the total of her race score excluding her two worst scores.

16. Support Boats  [09/02/07]

Private motor boating on the lake of Bracciano is forbidden.
Any team wanting to be supported by a personal motor boat shall request the authorization to the Organizing Committee and have it confirmed via Fax or e.mail.

17. Prizes  [09/02/07]

For each event prizes will be awarded to the helmsperson and crew of:

1st, 2nd and 3rd overall ranked boats.

1st, 2nd and 3rd ranked boats plus 1st ranked woman crew of each age group.

Special prizes will be awarded by Sponsors and Organizing Authority.

18. Disclaimer of Liability

18.1 as stated in Racing Rule 4 Competitors participate in the regatta at their own risk.

18.2 The Organizing Authority, the Italian Sailing Federation, the International 470 Class Association and the Italian 470 Class Association and any other party involved in the regatta organisation will not accept any liability whatsoever for loss, material or personal damage (including but not limited to death, injury, consequential damage, etc.) sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during or after the regatta.

19. Rights to use names and likenesses.
Competitors automatically grant to the Organizing authority without payment the right in perpetuity to make, use and show any motion pictures, still pictures and live, taped or filmed television of or relating to the event.

Trofeo "Salvatore Ferrone"  [09/02/07]
The "Salvatore Ferrone" Challenge Trophy will be awarded to the first Italian crew in one of the races of the "Open Asitalia 470" Regatta.
Race involved will be stated in the Sailing Instructions.

Insurance
Each participant boat shall hold a valid Third Party Liability insurance with a minimum cover of at least € 500.000,00 per event or the equivalent in the currency of the country of registration of the boat. The insurance must be kept in full force throughout the regatta.

Charter Boats
Charter boats can be arranged. Requests should be posted not after May 15 2007.

Hotel Accommodations
Competitors shall make there own housing arrangements.
Organizing Authority is working out to find an agreement with the hotel managements for special fares.
